This machine eats rubber. The ATR-300 is a tire recycling machine and it's sold by a Russian company. So how can a tire be recycled? The machine turns old tires into rubber "crumb." Rubber crumb is then added to artificial grass which softens the surface for athletes. It can also be used on playgrounds. Here's how the machine works. The tires get cut into small segments. The segments are then ground up multiple times into smaller chips. Metallic material and the textile cord is removed along the way. The rubber finally gets cleaned and sorted. So the next time you play on fake grass, remember where that rubber crumb comes from.
